QUEENS, N.Y. - After an outstanding 2007 campaign, the Red Storm remained at the No. 13 spot in the final CSTV/AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll, released Wednesday afternoon. St. John's finished with a 33-4 overall record and reached the Regional Semifinal Round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history and put up a tough match before falling, 3-2, to then-No. 5 USC, the eventual Regional Champions. The Red Storm was featured in all but two polls during the duration of the 2007 season, but was receiving votes in both the Preseason and the Week 1 (Aug. 27) polls. St. John's reached the national tournament for the second year in a row, this year via an automatic bid after defeating then-No.21 Louisville in the BIG EAST Championship Final, 3-0. The Red Storm hosted the first and second rounds of the tournament and picked up victories over LIU (3-0) and Delaware (3-1) to earn a trip to the Gainesville Regional.
