Kurasaki Named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I Volleyball First Team

Jamaica, N.Y.-St. John's senior volleyball player Robyn Kurasaki (Milliani, Hawaii) was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I Volleyball First Team, it was announced today. A psychology major with a 3.83 grade point average, Kurasaki will graduate as one of the all-time most decorated players in Red Storm volleyball history.

Earlier this season, Kurasaki became the all-time assists in leader in St. John's history. She broke alum Connie Chae's record in a match versus Robert Morris and has built on her totals ever since. She has dished out 4,748 assists and is the only player in Red Storm history to post three consecutive 1,000 assist seasons. She is once again challenging the 1,000-assist mark this season, totaling 954 helpers going into the final weekend of the season.

For her career, Kurasaki has earned numerous accolades, including being named to the all-tournament team at nine different tournaments, 2000 BIG EAST Rookie of the year, 2000 Northeast region Rookie of the year, 2002 Verizon Academic All-District I second team member and a three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star.

By being selected to the CoSIDA Academic District I First Team, Kurasaki's named will be placed on the national ballot.
