JAMAICA, NY. The St. Johns University volleyball team closed out the 2000 season this afternoon with a 3-0 sweep (15-9, 15-3, 15-6) of visiting Robert Morris College on Senior Day in Alumni Hall.

The Storm capped perhaps the most successful season in the programs seven-year history with a 25-8 overall record, representing the most victories ever in school history.

Senior Olga Roudovski (Brooklyn, N.Y./Sheepshead Bay) leaves St. Johns with a plethora of records, both at St. Johns and in the BIG EAST conference. She led St. Johns to the victory over the Colonials with a match-high 17 kills, giving her 1,541 for her career, the most ever at SJU. In the third game of this afternoons match, Roudovski also broke the BIG EAST single season kill mark, formerly held by Baiba Zake of Seton Hall, when she tallied her 551st kill of 2000. She would finish with a total of 554. Roudovski is also the only St. Johns player ever to tally 1,000 kills, 1,000 digs and 100 aces in her career. Last month, she also broke the conference record for kills in a single match with 39 against West Virginia.

Senior Amanda Berg (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb) finished her remarkable career fifth all-time in career kills with 884 and third in total blocks with 366. She tallied nine kills and three blocks against the Colonials. Senior Aleeza Miller (Los Angeles, Calif./Cal-Berkeley) is second all-time at SJU in total blocks, finishing her terrific career with 378. Miller is also sixth all-time in career kills with 809. Senior Stephanie Luehr (Wood River, Neb./Wood River) posted nine digs and a pair of kills in this afternoons match, and will finish her fine career 10th all-time at SJU in digs with 638.

St. Johns, which barely missed clinching the fourth and final spot in the BIG EAST tournament last night falling 3-0 to visiting Connecticut, won seven conference matches in 2000, tying the most ever in the programs history.
