Played in 23 games in 18 contests ... recorded her
first collegiate kill against Bucknell (Aug. 26) ...
posted a season-high four kills and tied her season-high
four attempts, producing a perfect hitting
percentage against Seton Hall (Oct. 6) ... registered
her first career service ace against DePaul (Oct. 20).

Three-year starter and letterwinner in volleyball ...
saw time as a setter, opposite and outside hitter ...
was team captain as a senior ... help lead her team to
a Eastern League championship in 2003 ... received
Eastern League first team honors and was named to
the CIF second team ... was a starter in the All-San
Diego All-Star game ... was a Union Tribune Scholar
Athlete in 2004 and 2005.
Off The Court
Rutan was named a 2006-07 BIG EAST Academic
All-Star and was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma
National Honor Society and received the Provost's
Achievement Award. When she is not on the court,
Rutan enjoys playing guitar and surfing. Her goals
for the coming season include winning the BIG EAST
Tournament. She lists Riders on the Storm by John
Dunsmore as her favorite book and American Beauty
as her favorite movie.
