April 11, 2005, Queens, NY - Former St. John's men's track and field standout Chris Graff placed fifth in the 2005 Papa John's 10 Miler/USA National 10 Mile Championship in Indianapolis, IN, this past weekend. Graff won the event in 2003.

Abdi Abdirahman took the 10 Mile Championship, when he crossed the line first with a record time of 47:27

"We are very proud of Chris and of all of his recent success in the USA Running Circuit," said Head Coach Jim Hurt.

Graff was a two-time All-American in the 5K and 10K for St. John's in 1998 and also won the 10K at the BIG EAST Championships.

The St. John's women's track and field team will host the 2005 Outdoor Metropolitan Championships this Saturday at DaSilva Memorial Field. First event is set for 10 a.m.
