Jamaica, N.Y. - The St. Johns mens and womens indoor track and field teams competed in the second day of events at the 2003 Millrose Games, held at Madison Square Garden.
On Saturday, the Red Storm relay teams took center stage as the mens 4x400, 4x800, and womens 4x400 all competed. In the womens 4x400, Judy Williams (Philadelphia, Pa.), Charline Sealy (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Kay-Dian Reid (Windsor, Conn.) and Shennette Hyatt-Davis finished fourth clocking a time of 3:59.88. In the mens 4x400, Ben Catalano (Carle Place, N.Y.), Mohammed Kanu (Mt. Laurel, N.J.), Phil McLean (Bayshore, N.Y.) and Dewayne Barrett (Brooklyn, N.Y.) raced to a second place finish with an impressive time of 3:23.55. Also in the 4x800, the team of Luis Garcia (Jamacia, N.Y.), Andy Mitchell (Bronx, N.Y.), Marc Crosswell (Elmont, N.Y.) and Pete Alfano (Staten Island, N.Y.) also placed second, finishing with a time of 8:01.65. The St. Johns mens and womens indoor track and field teams return to action on February 14, when they will compete in the Collegiate Invitational, held at the Armory.
