Flushing, N.Y. - The St. Johns womens tennis team lost its first home match of the season this afternoon to Villanova, 2-7 at the National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

At No. 1 singles, Corina Cetateanu defeated Julie Darne, 7-5, 6-4. Cetateanu also won her doubles match with partner Vera Efsthatiou. They beat the Villanova doubles team of Julie Darne and Steph Anot, 8-4.

The Red Storm hopes to gain its first victory of the season against Massachusetts tomorrow in Amherst, Mass.
