Women's Tennis Beaten By Army and Syracuse, 7-0

Jamaica, N.Y. - This weekend the St. Johns womens tennis team traveled to the Lichtenberg Tennis Center in West Point, N.Y. where they competed in two matches.

On Friday, they went up against a tough Army team, losing 7-0 and on Saturday squared off against BIG EAST opponent Syracuse, their last conference match of the season, also losing by a 7-0 score. The losses drop St. Johns overall record to 3-7 and 2-5 in conference play.

Against Army, freshman Lauren Lorenzetti (Northfield, N.J.) played the best match of the afternoon for St. Johns. Lorenzetti, playing No. 5 singles, dropped a close match to Armys Lauren Leftih, 7-5, 6-4.

In the match against Syracuse, sophomore Kristina Bothova (Bratislava, Slovakia) dropped the first set of her No. 2 singles match against Syracuses Masha Kabanova 6-3. Bothova then came back to take the second set by a score of 6-1, before dropping the third set 6-2.
