Jamaica, N.Y.-The St. Johns womens tennis team beat Fairfield University, 7-0. St. Johns record is 2-4.

At. No. 1 singles sophomore Nataliya Kostova (Bulgaria/Bethune) beat Fairfields Kelly Dimario, 6-2, 6-2. At No. 2 singles senior Corina Cetateanu (Forest Hills, N.Y.) defeated Diana Webb, 6-2, 6-0. At No. 3 singles freshman Tessa Lewis (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada) had a perfect match against Chrissy Fitzpatrick, 6-0, 6-0. At. No. 4 singles senior Vera Efstathiou (Whitestone, N.Y.) beat Erin Reeves, 7-6, 6-2. At No. 5 singles sophomore Olga Romanidis (Kew Gardens, N.Y.) defeated Kristy Golden, 6-3, 6-4. At No. 6 singles freshman Jennifer Liantonio (West Hempstead, N.Y.) beat Alissa Haddad, 6-3, 6-1.

In double action Kostova and Lewis defeated Fairfields Dimario and Fitzpatrick, 8-1. Second doubles Cetateanu and Efstathiou beat Webb and Reeves, 9-8. Third doubles Liantonio and Romanidis lost a close match to Golden and Mullowney, 8-6.

St. Johns will return to action on March 29 against Villanova at 1:00pm.
