Women's Tennis Falls to Seton Hall, 6-1

Jamaica, N.Y. - The St. John's women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Seton Hall this afternoon at Alley Pond Tennis Center. The Red Storm are now 1-3 on the season.

Nataliya Kostova earned SJU's only win of the day at No. 1 singles. Kostova defeated Kim Barfuss, 6-7 (7-3), 6-1, 4-1. Barfuss retired in the deciding set with Kostova holding a commanding 4-1 lead.

At No. 2 singles Vera Efstathiou forced Kyli Lassalle to a third set with a 6-4 win in the second. Efstathiou eventually fell to Lassalle, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.

Corina Cetateanu also played three sets, winning the second versus Lorell Zamot, 6-4. Cetateanu, playing in the fourth position, fell to Zamot, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.

The Red Storm return to action March 9 at Princeton University.
