ARLINGTON, VA. - The St. John's University women's tennis team downed BIG EAST rival Georgetown, 6-1 on Saturday in a match held at Army-Navy Country Club Indoor Tennis Facility in Arlington, Va. The Red Storm remained undefeated on the young season, improving to 3-0 overall.

St. John's opened up the day by sweeping the three doubles matches to take the first point of the match. The Red Storm remained dominate in singles competition, taking the first five singles positions on their way to the 6-1 win. Juniors Kristina Bothova (Bratislava, Slovakia) and Hande Gorur (Istanbul, Turkey), along with sophomore Lauren Leo (Staten Island, N.Y.) remained undefeated in singles play on the season, winning in straight sets at No. 2, 3 and 4 singles, respectively. Junior Allison Davidson (Cedar Falls, Iowa) toughed out a straight set victory over Jordan Botjer at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 7-5, while sophomore Lauren Lorenzetti (Northfield, N.J.) dropped Kristin Dew, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.

The Red Storm return to the courts on Thursday, February 19 when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take on the Duquesne Dukes, in a match to begin at noon.
