COURTNEY RETT GIVEN BIG EAST HONOR
 

 
Jamaica, NY  Freshman defender Courtney Rett was named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team for the 2000 season. The selections were announced at the BIG EAST awards dinner held at South Bend, Indiana, the site of this years BIG EAST Tournament.

Rett (Valley Stream, NY/Valley Stream Central), was a key factor in the Red Storm defense this year. The freshman was immediately inserted into head coach Ian Stones line-up, as she played in all 19 games, starting in 17. Rett was part of a Red Storm defense that held opponents scoreless in six contests. She also added an offensive spark, dishing out two assists on the season.

The rookie is the first member to be named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie team since current senior, Jaime Clark, was named in 1997.

The Red Storm finished the season with an 11-8-0 mark and a 1-4-0 record in the BIG EAST. They are currently awaiting the decision of the ECAC selection committee for a bid to this years ECAC Tournament.
