ST. JOHN'S DROPS OVERTIME THRILLER VS. SYRACUSE

The women's soccer team at St. John's University fell victim to forward Erin O'Grady's overtime goal just 2:39 into overtime for a 1-0 defeat at Syracuse. St. John's Jen Frankel (Mount Laurel, NJ) was superb in goal stopping 13 shots taken by the Orangewomen offense.

The loss dropped the Red Storm to 7-5 overall and 0-3 in the BIG EAST. Syracuse improves to 8-4, 2-1 after their thrilling victory at the Soccer Stadium at Lampe Athletics Complex.

Last season the Orangewomen and the Red Storm played to a 0-0 double-overtime tie on October 15, 1999. Freshman goalkeeper Tina Fogg was the star in that contest turning back seven shots to preserve the tie in goal.

St. John's returns to action on Sunday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. to play Providence in a BIG EAST Northeast Division battle.
