Ian Stone's Coach's Corner

We are at the end of spring break at St. John's. From a coach's perspective, the spring semester had just got started and the girls were making great progress, then we had to stop and take a week off. The girls probably needed the break though, as they're pushing themselves really hard.

Personally, I am really enjoying working with the current group of student-athletes that we have on the St. John's women's soccer team. They are obviously brilliant in the classroom (as the 3.46 team cumulative G.P.A would suggest) and talented soccer players, but, in addition, I really enjoy their personalities.

It's nice to work with a group of people that thoroughly enjoy each other's company. I feel that from a staff point of view, we are doing a good job of giving each of the girls a lot of individual attention. The personal development that takes place over our spring season is a testament to that point. I also know that however hard we push the girls, they will be there for each other, which makes for a great team.

If you are a recruit, and you are reading with a view to potentially come to St. John's, try to catch one of our spring games. The current team is a very special group of people. I would love you to share in our excitement.
