Sanders and Thomson Post Second Straight Top-20 Finish at the Hoya Women's Invitational

Reston, Va.St. Johns sophomore golfer Jaclyn Sanders (Brights Grove, Ontario, Canada) and freshman Christin Thomson (Ft. Francis, Ontario, Canada) earned their second straight top-20 finish at the Hoya Womens Invitational, played at Reston C.C. in Reston, Va. Sanders finished the two-round event tied for 16th at 18-over par 162, while Thomson finished tied for 19th at 20-over par 164.

The Red Storm team finished seventh with a score of 94-over par 670, three shots behind sixth place Dartmouth and seven strokes behind fifth place Boston College.

Sophomore Jennifer Rhee (Rydal, Pa.) finished tied for 42nd at 27-over par 171, while freshman Katie Lebel (Mooretown, Ontario, Canada) finished tied for 46th at 30-over par 174. Freshman Maggie Steciuk (London, Ontario, Canada) finished tied for 56th, carding a 35-over par 179.

The St. Johns womens golf team returns to action on March 29-30 when they travel to Williamsburg, Va. to compete in the William & Mary Invitational.
