QUEENS, N.Y. - Senior Brittany Lambertson led the Red Storm into Piscataway this weekend and nearly won the individual title. Lambertson finished the par 72 course with a 7-over 152 (77, 74) trailing the leader by only one stroke. Ellie Brophy of Yale took the individual title with a 6-over 150 (76, 74). As a team, the Red Storm finished in sole possession of third with a 66-over 642 (337, 305). St. John's trailed only Yale, 57-over 633 (329, 304) and team champion Bethune-Cookman College, 48-over 624 (318, 306). "We faced some very difficult weather conditions but still managed to record our lowest round score (305) of the year," said head coach Ambry Bishop. "Brittany once again led our team and nearly won the event. She had a great tournament and continues to prove she is one of the best right now." Lambertson's first round 77 was the second lowest score of the round and was even more impressive due to the severe weather conditions at the Rutgers University Golf Course. Her 74 in the final round was also tied for second lowest of the day. Sophomore Lois Kim had a great final round and finished tied for seventh with a 15-over 159 (85, 74). Sophomore Michelle Romano was equally impressive, recording the lowest score of the final round (73) and finishing in a tie for fifteenth. Romano finished the tournament with a 17-over 161 (88, 73). This was the final fall event for St. John's. The Red Storm's next event will take place over spring break at the Treasure Coast Classic.
