Piscataway, NJ - The St. John's women's golf team is currently in second place after the first round of the Rutgers Invitational at the Rutgers Golf Club in Piscataway, NJ. The Red Storm carded a first round 19-over par 307, one stroke behind St. Francis University who carded a 18-over par 306. The Red Storm was led by freshman standout Brittany Lambertson (Northport, NY) who fired an even par 72 and is currently in first place, three strokes ahead of the field. Junior Christin Thomson (Ontario, Canada) and senior Jaclyn Sanders (Ontario, Canada)both carded four-over par 76 and are tied for fifth. Junior Maggie Steciuk (Ontario, Canada) also contributed to St. John's first round success by shooting a 11-over par 83, while senior Jennifer Rhee (Rydal, PA) carded a 12-over par 84 and is tied for 40th place. Junior Katie Lebel (Ontario, Canada) carded a 11-over par 83, while playing individually and is currently tied for 32nd place.
The women's golf team returns to the course tomorrow, Saturday, October 16 for the final round of the Rutgers Invitational at Rutgers Golf Club in Piscataway, NJ.
