Results

Queens, NY - Led by junior Jennifer Rhee, the St. John's women's golf team shot a 48-over par 340 and leads after the first round of play at the Hartford Women's Golf Invitational, being held at the Wampanoag Country Club in Connecticut.

The Red Storm are five strokes ahead of host Hartford in the 13-team field. Siena is third, followed by LIU and Lehigh in fourth, Boston University in sixth, Hofstra and Fairfield are tied for seventh, Albany is ninth and Monmouth rounds out the top-10.

Rhee shot a seven-over par 80, posting a 40 going out and 40 coming back, and leads the field of 67 golfers by one stroke.

St. John's has four individuals among the top-20, with senior Jaclyn Sanders tied for eighth place at 11-over par 84.

Freshman Brittany Lambertson and Christin Thomson are tied for 17th place at 15-over par 88. Maggie Steciuk is tied for 23rd place at 16-over par 89.

The final round of play will be held on Tuesday.
