Red Storm Women's Golf Finishes Second at Rutgers Invitational

Piscataway, N.J. - The St. John's women's golf team finished in second place at the Rutgers Invitational, hosted by Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J. The Red Storm carded a final round 21-over par 309, trailing only Boston College. Rutgers, Georgetown and Bucknell round out the top-five.

Individually, junior Jaclyn Sanders (Brights Grove, Ontario, Canada) carded a two-round score of eight-over par 152, finishing tied for second place, eight shots behind the winner. The event marks Sanders second top-five finish on the season.

Sophomore Jennifer Rhee (Rydel, Pa.), who entered the final round tied for 30th, carded the top score of the final round, an even-par 72. She moved up the 24 spots on the leader board to finish tied for sixth. Junior Christin Thomson (Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada) and sophomore Maggie Steciuk (London, Ontario, Canada) both finished tied for ninth at 12-over par 156, making the Red Storm the only team to have four golfers in the top-10. Sophomore Katie Lebel (Mooretown, Ontario, Canada) finished tied for 60th.

The Rutgers Invitational marks the conclusion of the Red Storm fall season as they hope for a mild winter in the Northeast to prepare for the spring season.
