Cape Cod, Ma - The St. John's women's golf team finished in third place at the Boston College Invitational, hosted by Boston College in Cape Cod, Mass. St. John's led going into the final round for the first time in school history, but outstanding play by Georgetown proved to be too much for the Red Storm. St. John's carded a final round 35-over par 319, but wasn't enough to hold off the exceptional performance by Georgetown who shot a final round 28-over par 312, winning the Boston Invitational four strokes ahead of St. John's and one stroke ahead of Boston College who finished second, shooting a final round 31-over par 315.

The Red Storm were led by sophomore Christin Thomson (London, Ontario, Canada) who shot a final round five-over par 76 to finish in second place overall, her first top-five finish of the season. SophomoreMaggie Steciuk (London, Ontario, Canada) carded a final round 10-over par 81, for her third top- ten finish of this year.

The women's golf team swings back into action tomorrow, Monday, April 5th when they participate in the Hofstra Invitational at Harbor Links Golf Club.
