Results

Queens, NY - The St. John's women's golf team shot a 42-over par 330 in the first round and stand in 11th place at the Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate, being held at the El Diablo Golf and Country Club in Citrus Springs, Florida.

Lightning and thunderstorms in the area forced Monday's first day of play to be halted in the midst of the second round. Tuesday's final day of competition will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.

Coastal Carolina shot an 18-over par 306 to lead the 17-team field. Marshall is second at 25-over par 313, followed by Cincinnati, Murray State, Ohio, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Western Carolina, Illinois and Montana. The Red Storm are 24 shots behind the lead.

St. John's senior Jaclyn Sanders (Brights Grove, Ontario, Canada) shot a seven-over par 79 in the first round and is tied for 19th place, leading the team. Freshman Brittany Lambertson (Northport, NY) shot an eight-over par 80 and is tied for 27th place.

Other Red Storm golfers include senior Jennifer Rhee (Rydal, PA), who is tied for 45th place at 11-over par 83; junior Christin Thomson (Ft. Frances, Ontario, Canada), who is tied for 68th place at 16-over par 88 and junior Maggie Steciuk (London,Ontario, Canada), who is tied for 78th place at 18-over par 90.
