St. John's Women Finish In Third, Men Finish In Sixth At The Northwood Invitational.

West Palm Beach, FLA. --The St. John's men's golf team posted a 17-over par 305 in the final round of play and finished 6th of 12 teams with a 31-over par 607. The St. John's women's golf team posted a 42 -over par 334 in the final round of play and finished 3rd of 8 teams with a 90-over par 674 at the Northwood Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at West Palm Beach Country Club.

On the men's side, Junior Ian Middleton (Delta, British Columbia) led St. John's, tying for 14th place at 5-over par 149. St. John's finished in sixth place at 31-over par 607. Webber International carded a two-round score of 3-over par 579 to win the Northwood Invitational, 2 strokes better than Brevard Community, second at 5-over par 581. Flagler College finished third at 11-over par 587, Northwood University took fourth at 25-over par 601, in fifth place Humber College carded a 26-over par 602.

St. John's sophomore Maggie Steciuk (Ontario, Canada) led the women's team finishing 6th, shooting a 17-over par 163. Junior Jaclyn Sanders (Brights Grove, Ontario) finished in 7th place one stroke behind her teammate, carding an 18-over par 164. Sophomore Christin Thomson (Ft. Francis, Ontario) shot a team low final round 79 to finish in 11th place. St. John's finished in third place with a 90-over par 674. Oklahoma City University finished in first place with a 52-over par 636.

The St. John's women's golf team returns to action on March 20-21 when they participate in the Georgetown Hoya Classic at Reston Country Club in Reston, VA.
