Monday, March 14, 2005, Queens, NY -- Shooting a 23 over par 311, the St. John's women's golf team finished tied for seventh in the Northern Illinois Springlake Intercollegiate Tournament held at the Springlake Golf Resort and Country Club in Northern Illinois last weekend.

Finishing at the top of the individual field was Leigh Sutton who shot par on the second day and led Creighton to a second place finish.

The Red Storm was led by Jaclyn Sanders (Brights Grove, Ontario, Canada) who finished tied for 12th, shooting four over par and 76 for the second round. Maggie Steciuk (London, Ontario, Canada) shot a four under par for the second round, finishing tied for 13th. Christin Thomson (Ft. Frances, Ontario, Canada) finished tied for 26th, also shooting well in the second round with five over par. Brittany Lambertson (Northport, NY) was consistent, shooting an 81 on the first day and an 82 on the second day. Katie Lebel (Mooretown, Ontario, Canada) finished out St. John's top five finishing tied for 96th.

The Red Storm returns to action this Sunday, March 20 when they will compete in the El Diablo Intercollegiate Invitational in Citrus Springs, FL.
