QUEENS, N.Y. -

  • This is St. John's third straight victory and its fourth in the last five games.

  • The win was only the second time that the Red Storm defeated Notre Dame in 18 tries. The only other win was in 2006, when St. John's defeated the Fighting Irish, 66-63, during their drive to the NCAA Tournament.

  • With the win, the Red Storm has clinched the 10th spot in the BIG EAST Tournament. The team will await word on its opponent upon completion of the BIG EAST regular season schedule.

  • The stingy St. John's defense allowed just 15 points in the first half, which ties the lowest point total allowed in a half by St. John's this season. STJ limited Dartmouth to only 15 points in the first half on Nov. 25.

  • St. John's held Notre Dame to 25.4 percent shooting from the floor for the game, which is the lowest shooting percentage of the season for either team in any Red Storm contest this year.

  • In her last outing at Carnesecca Arena, senior Kia Wright scored a team-high 14 points, while dishing out a game-high five assists and recording two steals and one block.

  • Monique McLean was just two points shy of a double-double, as she pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds and scored eight points. This was her third double-digit rebounding effort of the season.

  • Junior Kelly McManmon had her ninth double-digit scoring effort of the season, as she drained 10 points. She has also hit multiple 3-pointers in five consecutive game and has hit at least one trey in the last 20 games.
