On McCorvey: A hustling, tough-nosed forward with natural leadership qualities ... saw most the most action of any freshman on the roster in 2006-07 ... voted a tri-captain as just a sophomore this year.

Coach Barnes Arico on McCorvey: "Joy has really shown leadership, commitment and work ethic in her short career at St. John's. She's undersized for her position but she has worked hard in the offseason on being more confident when she receives the ball."

As A Freshman In 2006-07: Started 26 out of 28 games, the most out of any freshman in 2007-08 ... scored in double-figures on six occasions and had at least 10 rebounds four times ... opened the season with first-career double-double against Iona (Nov. 9) ... scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds against the Gaels ... netted 13 points and had seven rebounds against Brown (Nov. 25) ... poured in a career-high 19 points and added 10 rebounds vs. Nicholls State (Dec. 10) ... scored 10 points against BIG EAST foe and No. 21 Pittsburgh (Jan. 13) on the road ... tallied 13 points vs. Providence (Feb. 10) ... had a stellar outing at Louisville (Feb. 20) with 10 points and 10 rebounds ... played in first-career BIG EAST Tournament against the Cardinals (March 3) in the first round and scored six points.

Before St. John's: Led T.R. Miller High School by averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per game ... a top three finalist for The Birmingham News' Miss Basketball Award ... chosen for the Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Game.
