Shannon Farley is entering her sixth season as an assistant coach for the Red Storm. As a member of head coach Kim Barnes Arico's staff since 2002, Farley has been a part of successful Red Storm squads, including the 2005-06 squad's run to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and second-consecutive 20-win season.

Farley's responsibilities at St. John's include assisting with recruiting, team compliance, guard player development, game planning and scouting, while also serving as the video exchange coordinator.

In 2002, she joined the St. John's staff after having played for and coached with Barnes Arico at Adelphi. As an assistant coach at Adelphi, Farley was involved in all aspects of the program and was responsible for player development, recruiting and preparing scouting reports.

She helped guide the 2001-02 squad to a 28-win season and first NCAA Tournament bid since 1987. In addition to her coaching experience at Adelphi, Farley was a four-year letterwinner on the Panthers' basketball and lacrosse teams.

Farley spent six years (1997-2003) working with the New York Liberty of the WNBA as a gameday assistant, helping with pregame warmup and working the bench during the game.

A native of Floral Park, N.Y., Farley received a Bachelor of Arts in physical and health education from Adelphi in 2001.
