Providence, RI - St. John's men's tennis player David Nylen (Orebro, Sweden) was named to the 2005 BIG EAST All-Tournamnet Tennis Team, it was announced today by the league office.

Nylen, recieved the honor after going undefeated (3-0) in singles play at the 2005 BIG EAST Touranment, held on April 21-23 in Tampa, FL. In first round action, he won his No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-1 and teamed with Morgan Bauer for a win at the No. 2 doubles position as well.

After an injury to teammate Louis Desmarteaux, Nylen was bumped up to the No. 1 position, where he went on to beat Notre Dame's counterpart 6-4, 6-0, giving St. John's it's only point against the Irish.

Nylen once again came up big in the Red Storm's third place match, winning 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 1 spot and also winning 8-4 with Bauer at No. 1 doubles.

For the season, Nylen led the Red Storm with a 14-4 singles record, seeing action at the No.1 and No. 2 positions. St. John's, who entered the BIG EAST Tournament as the No. 5 seed, finsihed third after beating Boston College 4-3 in the consolation finals.
