Villanova, Pa.The St. Johns mens tennis concluded its 2003 spring season with a 6-1 victory over BIG EAST conference rival Villanova, in a match played in Villanova, Pa. The Red Storm finish the season at 10-7 overall and 4-2 in the BIG EAST.

St. Johns earned the all-important doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. At the No. 1, Jake Maxwell (Glen Cove, N.Y.) and Arnaud Agniel (Aix-en Province, France) defeated Devine and Kaster, 8-4, while at the No. 3, Rick Ferreira (Fort Beaufort, S. Africa) and Todd Goldberg (Pomona, N.Y.) defeated Goulet and Baraldi, 9-7.

In the singles matches, Ferreira defeated Adams, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 1, while Agniel posted a victory over Devine, 6-3, 6-2, at the No.2. Maxwell, Bauer and Nick Stocker (Norwich, England) added straight set victories to secure the win for the Red Storm.

The victory concludes the season for St. Johns and they return to action on April 25-27 when they travel to Coral Gables, Fla. for the 2003 BIG EAST Championship.
