Providence, R.I. The BIG EAST conference has announced today that the St. Johns University mens tennis team has been invited to participate in the 2001 BIG EAST Championship in Coral Gables, Fla.

Beginning with this season the BIG EAST will only invite the top six schools in the league to the championships. The 2001 Championship is a three-day event scheduled for April 20-22. Matches will take place at the Neil Schiff Tennis Complex in Coral Gables, Florida. Each team winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
