Queens, N.Y.The St. Johns mens tennis team shut out local rival Queens College, 7-0 in a match held on the campus of Queens College. The Red Storm improves to 2-5 on the young season.

St. Johns won all three doubles matches led at the No. 1 by Rick Ferreira (Fort Beaufort, S. Africa) and Arnaud Agniel (Aix-en Province, France), who defeated Mullin and Breland, 8-7 (1) in a close match. Nick Stocker (Norwich, England) and Jonathan Skinner earned a victory at the No. 2 doubles with an 8-1 defeat of Popescu and McCauley, while Morgan Bauer (New York, N.Y.) and Todd Goldberg (Pomona, N.Y.) made it a clean sweep of the doubles with an 8-3 victory over Tucker and Kedrovic.

In the singles, Ferreira won at the No. 1, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 while senior Jake Maxwell (Glen Cove, N.Y.) , playing at the No.2, also squeaked out a three set victory, 4-6,6-1, 6-2. Argniel, Stocker, Bauer and Shumer each closed out there singles matches in straight sets.
