Princeton, NJ - The Princeton men's tennis team used a tiebreak win at No. 3 doubles and four straight-set singles victories to defeat St. John's 5-2, at Jadwin Gym Sunday afternoon.

Goswami and Gober were tied at 8-8 with Morgan Bauer and Claudio Halim before winning the decisive tiebreak, 7-2, to give the Tigers the doubles point. Princeton then got wins from a pair of freshmen, brothers Andrew and Christian Husby, as well as juniors Darius Craton and Shannon Morales to win the match handily.

Andrew Husby defeated Halim at No. 5 singles by a 6-3, 6-4 score, before Bauer took Christian Husby to two tie breaks, but was edged out in each, 7-6 and 7-6. Louis Desmarteaux and Craton played a tight first set at No. 1, but Craton won 7-6 before finishing out the match with a 6-1 win in the second set.

The Red Storm's only singles wins came at the No. 2 and No. 4 spots. David Nylen took the first set over Hans Plukas at No. 2 and after dropping the second set 3-6, bounced back to claim the match with an easy 6-1 win in the third set. At No. 4, Nick Stocker also outlasted his opponent, Jonathan Leslie, in three sets, falling 4-6 in the first but closed out the match 6-2, 6-4 for the win.

St. John's will return to the courts on Friday, April 8 when they host Stony Brook at 3:30 pm.
