Eric Rebhuhn is in his seventh season as the head coach of the St. John's men's tennis team. During the spring of 2007, he guided the team to a 14-11 record, including a 4-1 BIG EAST mark during the regular season. In postseason play, the Red Storm men finished fourth at the BIG EAST Championships in Tampa, Fla.
Rebhuhn has consistently kept St. John's in the top five of the conference for the past three years. During the 2005-06 season, he guided the team to its best finish in 13 years with a 13-5 record. In 2004-05, despite a 5-12 record, the team finished in third place at the BIG EAST Championships.
After being hired in 2001, Rebhuhn's first season with the Red Storm produced a 6-11 mark. However, he quickly turned the team around and started earning more victories. In his second year, the COACHteam was just under .500 with an 11-12 record. Finally, in 2003-04, he had turned what might be called mediocre team into a winning squad, producing a 13-11 record.
Prior to arriving at St. John's, Rebhuhn spent four seasons as the head coach of both the men and women's tennis programs at the University of Northern Iowa. During his last season, the women's team was ranked as high as 68th nationally.
Rebhuhn played tennis for four years at Concordia College in New York, winning more than 150 matches. He continues to compete at a high level, as Rebhuhn has been consistently ranked No. 1 or 2 in the East in the 25-and-over and 30-and-over divisions across the last five years.
A Great Neck, N.Y. native, Rebhuhn earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Concordia in 1993 while on a tennis scholarship. He earned his master's degree in physical education with a specialization in sports psychology at the University of Northern Iowa.
Rebhuhn currently resides in Westchester, N.Y. with his wife Jackie and their newborn baby boy, Jake.
