GAME UPDATE:
The Red Storm pressed to start the second half, with senior midfielder Jeff Matteo leading the charge. He was pulled down near the box by IU defender Danny ORourke. The referee called for a free kick and Matteo worked his around the six-man Hoosier wall, giving the Red Storm a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute.
His ninth goal of the season a career high was the first scored on Indiana goalkeeper Colin Rogers in nearly 700 minutes.
Indiana pushed forward following the SJU goal, with junior All-American forward Patrick Noonan touching the ball for one of the first times all game, sending a shot wide.
St. Johns, however, continued to push forward, with Matteo taking another shot that was saved and then in the 61st minute, sophomore Matia Damiani made a diving stab at a ball crossed by Matt Groenwald. The shot went barely high and nearly gave St. Johns a 2-0 lead.
Indiana was able to tie the game at 69:07 remaining when Phil Presser played a ball into IU freshman Mike Ambersley, whose shot from 22 yards out beat SJU goalkeeper Guy Hertz to the upper left corner.
Both teams had chances through the remainder of the half, but were not able to capitalize. The Red Storms best shot with a blast from freshman Chris Corcoran stopped by a diving Rogers with five minutes left. With under two minutes left, the Hoosiers had a pair of chances. Phil Presser picked up a loose ball and sent a shot wide from the near side. At the 89:00 mark, Noonan took advantage of a slip on the slick surface by an SJU defender and blasted a shot from 15 yards out on the near side that went just wide, sending the game to overtime.
In the first overtime period, Indiana jumped out quickly with a shot by Ned Grabavoy from 12 yards out on the far side of the box pushed away by a diving Hertz. A pair of corner kicks following the shot were cleared. The Red Storm had chances with Matteo and Groenwald getting shots off.
Indiana moved the ball to start the second overtime period and the Hoosiers had a shot blocked near the 25-yard line by Corcoran. The deflection went toward the box, but Matteo leaped above the crowd and headed it away. The ensuing throw-in the 109th minute was saved by Hertz.

In the 10th minute, Simone Salinno takes a corner and Chris Wingert's header is saved by IU goalkeeper Colin Rogers.
In the 33rd minute, after 10 minutes of back and forth play, Matteo played the ball back to junior Alberto Duenas, whose blast from 30 yards out went high.
In the 40th minute, Indiana took an indirect kick from the far side and the cross into the box was blocked out by Wingert. The Hoosiers maintained possession, but were not able to mount any significant charges.
In the 42nd minute, Matteo took an indirect kick from the far side of the field that Matia Damiani headed, but just out of the reach of Shalrie Joseph near the box.
With less than a minute left in the half, junior goalkeeper Guy Hertz came out to nearly the 20-yard line, booting a loose ball away. Seconds later, IU junior Michael Bocks shot from 18 yards out on the right side was saved by a diving Hertz.
