Red Storm Men's Soccer to Host Creighton in NCAA Sweet 16 on Sunday at 1 p.m.

JAMAICA, N.Y. -- The second-ranked St. John's University men's soccer team will host Creighton University in an NCAA Division I Tournament third round match on Sunday, December 1 at 1 p.m. at Belson Stadium.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, November 30 at 7 p.m., but has been moved to Sunday, December 1 at 1 p.m.

The Red Storm advanced to their seventh-straight "Sweet Sixteen" with a thrilling win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday night. St. John's, ranked No. 1 for five weeks during the regular season, is one of only two schools in the country (joined by Indiana) to reach the Sweet Sixteen in seven straight NCAA Tournaments.

Freshman Jeff Carroll (Springfield, Va.) scored the winning goal in Wednesday night's win, connecting on a shot from 15 yards out for his first collegiate goal, with 1:13 second left in the second overtime period.

Creighton (16-3-2), meanwhile, advanced to the third round, with a 3-2 win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Wednesday night.

St. John's and Creighton have some history between them, as the Red Storm beat the Bluejays, 2-1, in the NCAA Semifinals in 1996 en route to the program's first-ever NCAA National Championship.

Again, St. John's will play Creighton in the NCAA Tournament Third Round on Sunday, December 1 at 1 p.m.
