Associate head coach Marc Reeves enters his ninth season at St. John's and his second as the program's associate head coach.
"Reevo has been involved in every aspect of our program for the last nine seasons," said head coach Dr. Dave Masur. "We're very fortunate to have someone of his knowledge and coaching abilities, and he is very deserving of his recent promotion."
Reeves has been part of an extraordinary run of success at St. John's. The Red Storm has reached the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 in seven of his eight seasons, including a national championship appearance in 2003, a run to the national semifinals in 2001 and three national quarterfinal appearances (2001, 2003, 2004).
St. John's has won three BIG EAST championships and racked up at least 10 wins in each of the eight seasons during Reeves' tenure. The Red Storm has earned national rankings at the ends of each of those seasons, including a No. 1 ranking in five consecutive weeks in 2002 and a No. 2 ranking during the 2005 season.
The Gillingham Dorset, England, native has spent the last five seasons as Masur's top assistant, contributing in all aspects of the Red Storm program with an extra emphasis on recruiting, scouting and team preparation.
Reeves was named National Assistant Coach of the Year by Aflac in 2002, a season after helping to guide the Red Storm to the national semifinal game. A midfielder for St. John's in 1998, Reevo went on to earn a masters degree in secondary education and begin his coaching career in 1999. Prior to arriving at St. John's, Reeves graduated from Boro Road University in 1997 with an upper second degree in sports science.
Reeves has a USSF A National License and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Advanced National Diploma. Reevo was recently married to his wife Susanne and lives in Nassau County.
