Ballo Jr. Tied For First Going Into Final Day At The UTSA Intercollegiate

QUEENS, N.Y. - Red Storm sophomore Mike Ballo, Jr., leads the Red Storm into the final round of the University of Texas at San Antonio Intercollegiate tournament after shooting a 65 in Monday's round.

For the weekend, Ballo has totaled a 134 (69-65) and has led St. John's both rounds. The sophomore is tied for first in the tournament with SMU's Kelly Kraft as they go into Tuesday morning's final round stroke for stroke.

After two rounds, the Red Storm is in second place with 564 points, trailing leader, Southern Methodist University by two strokes.

For St. John's, Keegan Bradley is close on Ballo's heals shooting an even 140 (70-70) for the tournament thus far and placing fifth after two rounds of play. Evan Beirne and Kevin Velardo are tied at 145, shooting 73-72 and 71-74, respectively. George Zolotas rounds up the scoring with a 149 (75-74) and goes into the final round in 35th place.
