St. John's finished in fourth place at the 2000 BIG EAST Championship held at the Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, IN. The Red Storm shot a two round score of 29-over par 597 (297-300). Seton Hall University won the tournament with a score of 12-over par 580 (290-290). The individual championship went to Eugene Smith from Seton Hall University. Smith shot rounds of 69-72 (141) to finish the tournament one stroke under par. Andrew Svoboda (74-70) led St. John's, tying for third place with a total score of two-over par 144. Andrew McKay tied for seventh place with a total score of four-over par 146 (73-73). Both Mike Matthews and Joe Saladino tied for 20th place with a total score of 12-over par 154. They both shot rounds of 75-79. For their outstanding performances, both Svoboda and McKay were named to the 2000 All-BIG EAST Team.
