Andrew Svoboda (Stamford, Conn.) finished tied for fourth, carding a three-round score of 12-over par 222 at the 2003 BIG EAST Championship being played at Warren G.C. in Notre Dame, Ind. Svobodas finish in the top-seven earned him All-BIG EAST honors for the fourth consecutive season. Svoboda finishes the 2002-03 season with seven individual titles and eight top-five finishes.
The Red Storm finished in sixth overall, carding an overall score of 948.
Junior Kyle Sleasman (Loudonville, N.Y) and sophomore Ian Middleton (British Columbia, Canada) tied for 25th, shooting a 32-over par 242. Freshman Tom Travalja (Oradell, N.J.) and junior John DeForest (Cottekill, N.Y.) finished in 28th and 30th place, respectively.
The Red Storm 2003 BIG EAST Championship marks the conclusion of the 2002-03 season for St. Johns, as they will now sit and wait for the NCAA selection committee to announce the participants for the 2003 NCAA Regionals.
