Svoboda Leads After Day One of BIG EAST GOLF Championships

Notre Dame, Ind.- Junior Andrew Svoboda (Stamford, Conn.) carded a two round score of one-over par 141 to earn him the lead after the first day at the BIG EAST Championships. Svoboda has a one shot advantage over Seton Halls Justin Van Hyning and Georgetowns Nick Cook heading into tomorrows final eighteen holes.

Senior Jesse Fitzgerald (Sayville, N.Y.) currently sits in seventh place at five-over par (145), four shots off the lead.

The Red Storm are in second place after shooting a 584, seven shots behind defending champion Virginia Tech. The BIG EAST Championships concludes tommorow with a final eighteen holes.
