St. Johns Golf Rallies for 2nd Place Finish at the Liberty Spring Classic

Penhook, Va.- St. Johns entered the final round of the Liberty Spring Classic in fifth place and 13 shots off the lead. The Red Storm shot a final round score of four-over par 292 to earn them a second place.

In the final round, Jesse Fitzgerald (Sayville, NY.), Andrew Svoboda (Stamford, Conn.), Joe Saladino (Cold Spring Harbor, NY.), and Kyle Sleasman (Loudonville, N.Y.) would each card a one-over par 73. Fitzgerald continued his solid play by posting a third place finish. It is his third top-five finish in five tournaments this spring. Saladino posted a tie for tenth place, earning him his second top-10 finish this spring. Svoboda and Sleasman broke into the top-20 by finishing tied for 18th place. John Deforest (Cottekille, N.Y.) shot a 21-over par to finish in a 55th place tie.

The Red Storm return to action this Friday-Saturday April 12-13, when they look to defend their title at the Princeton Invitational.
