Port St. Lucie, Fla.St. Johns senior golfer Andrew Svoboda (Stamford, Conn.), searching for his sixth individual title in nine events, is tied for third place after the first round of the Treasure Coast Classic hosted by St. Johns at the PGA C.C. in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Svoboda carded an opening round one-under par 71, two shots behind the leader. The Red Storm is in 14th place, shooting an opening round 318.

Senior Kyle Sleasman (Loudonville, N.Y.) is tied for 45th at seven-over par 79, while freshman Tom Travalja (Oradell, N.J.) is at 11-over par 83, tied for 68th place. Sophomore Ian Middleton (British Columbia, Canada) is tied for 75th and senior John DeForest (Cottekill, N.Y.) is in 96th after the first round of competition.

The St. Johns mens golf completes play at the Treasure Coast Classic, teeing off in a final round 18 holes tomorrow.
