QUEENS, N.Y. - Red Storm senior co-captain Keegan Bradley competed in the first annual Florida New Year's Open this past Wednesday and finished tied for second in the event. The tournament, held at Martin Downs Country Club, was the second ever of the new Gateway Collegiate Tour. Bradley finished with a score of even par 216 (74, 72, 70), second only to Lynn University's Jordan Holley who finished with a 3-under 213 (71, 70, 72). "This was a good achievement for Keegan," said head coach Frank Darby. "This is the first year of the Gateway Tour and it featured some good competition. Hopefully more people now know about Keegan and what he can do out on the course." Bradley capped off the three day tournament with 12 birdies, 30 pars and an eagle and was one of only three players to finish at par or better. Bradley recorded the low score of round three and played extremely well on Par 5 holes, shooting 8-under on them for the tournament. St. John's sophomore Dan Mollicone also competed in the tournament finishing 18th with a 17-over 233 (81, 77, 75). The Gateway Collegiate Tour has been formed to fill the need for the growing amount of collegiate golfers looking to improve their games outside of the college arena. The Collegiate Tour will operate during student-athletes' holiday and summer breaks, offering tournaments in both Phoenix and West Palm Beach. Entry into the Gateway Collegiate Tour is open to college students either on a college golf team, or those in the process of being recruited. Finish Player Score Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Total
