St. John's Men's Golf Team is in Fifth Place After First Day of the Rutgers Invitational

New Brunswick, NJ - The St. John's University men's golf team stands in fifth place after the first day of play at the Rutgers Invitational, being held at Rutgers Golf Club in New Brunswick, NJ. Host school Rutgers University leads the eight-team field with a four-under par 564. The Red Storm carded rounds of six-over par 290 and 11-over par 295, finishing the day at 17-over par total of 585.

Leading the individual race is Jason Bataille from Rutgers University who finished the day at six-under par 136. Chris Condello from Columbia University is second place at three-under par 139, three shot out of first.

St. John's was led by freshman Keegan Bradley (Hopkinton, MA), who is tied for third place at two-under par 140. Bradley shot two consecutive rounds of one-under par 70 .

Junior Brian McArdle (Huntington, NY) carded a one-over par 143 and is tied for eighth place. Junior Tom Travalja (Oradell, N.J.), is tied for 22nd at six-over par 148, while senior Ian Middleton ( Vancouver, British Columbia) finished tied for 37th at 15-over par 157.

The third and final round of the Rutgers Invitational will conclude tomorrow Saturady, September 18.
