St. John's Men's Golf Falls to Sixth After Final Round of the Tillinghast

Scarsdale, N.Y. - The St. John's men's golf team finished sixth at the Tillinghast concluded this afternoon at Fenway G.C. in Scarsdale, N.Y. The Red Storm carded a final round 317 to give them a two-round total of 608. Towson won the team championship at 586 followed by Notre Dame (592), West Florida (601), Akron (603) and Maryland (604).

Individual, Towson's Alex Brueggemann won individual medalist honors, carding a three-over par 143, two strokes ahead of teammate Billy Wingerd's 145.

For the Red Storm, freshman John Stoltz (Middletown, N.Y.) posted his first career top-10, finishing tied for seventh at nine-over par 149. Sophomore Brian McArdle (Huntington, N.Y.) finished tied for 10th at 10-over par 150, while junior Ian Middelton (British Columbia, Canada) and sophomore Tom Travalja (Oradell, N.J.) finished tied for 39th at 16-over par 156.

The Tillinghast marks the conclusion of the 2003 fall season for the Red Storm as they return the links this spring for the start of 2004 spring season.
