New Haven, Conn. - The St. John's University men's golf team finished in 9th place at the MacDonald Cup, held this past weekend at Yale G.C. in New Haven, Conn. The Red Storm carded a two round score of 38 over par 598, one shot by behind seventh place Connecticut and Lynn University. Individually, St. Johns was led by freshman John Stoltz (Middletown, N.Y.), who finished tied for 11th at six-over par 146. Freshman Joe Yastrub (Lake Grove, N.Y.) and senior Kyle Sleasman (Loudonville, N.Y.) finished tied for 25th at 10-over par 150, while sophomore Brian McArdle (Huntington, N.Y.) tied for 47th at 12-over par 152. Junior Ian Middleton (British Columbia, Canada) added a tie for 81st place at 19-over par 159.
The St. Johns mens golf team returns to action on October 20-21 when they close out their fall season by hosting the Tillinghast at Fenway C.C. in Scarsdale, N.Y.
