St. John's Men's Golf 6th After First Round of Temple Invitational

Scranton, Pa. - The St. John's University men's golf team stands in 6th place after the first round of play at the Temple Invitational, being held at Glenmaura G.C. in Scranton, Pa.. Penn State leads the 13-team field with a nine-over par 293.

The Red Storm carded an opening round 316, trailing fifth place Temple by one stroke as they head into the final day of play.

St. John's was led by freshman John Stoltz (Middletown, N.Y.), who is tied for 17th at six-over par 77. Sophomore Brian McArdle (Huntington, N.Y.),/b> is tied for 20th at seven-over par 78, while freshman Joe Yastrub (Lake Grove, N.Y.) carded an eight -over par 79 and is tied for 22nd. Junior Ian Middelton (British Columbia, Canada) is tied for 38th after shooting an opening round 11-over par 82.

The Temple Invitational concludes on Saturday, October 4 with a final 18 holes at Glenmauara G.C.
