Three SJU Basketball Players Given Release; King, Smith and Doyle Seek Transfers for Fall Semester
 

 
April 14, 2003, Jamaica, N.Y. -- St. Johns head mens basketball coach Mike Jarvis announced that sophomores Eric King, Tristan Smith and freshman Tim Doyle have asked for and received permission to speak to other institutions regarding transfer options.

King (Brooklyn, N.Y./Lincoln) played in 32 games and averaged 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game this past season.

Smith (Amityville, N.Y./Amityville) played in 26 contests this year and averaged 1.5 points and had 16 steals.

Doyle (Merrick, N.Y./St. Dominic's) played in 25 games and averaged 1.3 points and had 12 assists in limited minutes for the Red Storm in the 2002-03 campaign.
