The Red Storm won the battle of the boards, 39-31. In BIG EAST play, the squad has out-rebounded three opponents (DePaul, Cincinnati and Syracuse) and tied Connecticut.
St. John's grabbed 16 boards on the offensive end to just three for DePaul. St. John's has now out-rebounded the opposition on the offensive end in seven straight games.
Justin Burrell came into the game averaging 17.0 points in BIG EAST contests and finished with 18 points to up his average to 17.3 ppg.
Burrell also grabbed 11 rebounds to earn his sixth career double-double.
Eugene Lawrence dished out seven assists and now has 475 in his career. Lawrence now trails Frank Alagia (478) by just three helpers for third place all-time.
Lawrence grabbed two steals in the game to pass Mark Jackson and move into fifth place on the all-time list. The senior guard now has 175 in his career.
Lawrence also connected on 1-of-2 shots from long range and is now tied for fourth place with Marcus Hatten on the all-time list for 3-pointers made with 113.
Anthony Mason Jr. scored 11 points and has scored in double-figures in eight straight games. Mason Jr. also dished out a career-high tying six assists and grabbed eight rebounds.
Larry Wright was 2-of-5 from long range and has now made multiple 3-pointers in four straight games. During that four game span, Wright is shooting 45.5 percent (10-22) from beyond the arc.
The game drew 4,451 fans for the second best Carnesecca Arena attendance this season.
