JAMAICA, N.Y. - St. John's University senior right fielder Pete Graham (Horseheads, N.Y./Wall [N.J.]) was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) 2000 Division I Northeast Region All-Star team, it was announced late last week.

Graham, who transferred to St. John's from Brookdale (N.J.) Community College in 1998, was a two-year starter in right field. In 106 career games, he posted a career batting average of .354 (137-for-387), with 30 doubles, seven triples, 16 home runs, 91 RBI and 52 stolen bases. A solid fielder, Graham had a two-year fielding percentage of nearly 96 percent.

This past season, he led the Red Storm (29-22, 8-15 BIG EAST) in batting with a .377 average and a team-high 16 doubles en route to being named second-team All-BIG EAST. He had three different seven-game hitting streaks this season and reached base safely in 48 of 51 games.

Most recently, he was a 22nd round draft pick of the Chicago Cubs and recently signed a minor league contract with the team. He was also drafted after his first year of community college by the Seattle Mariners, selected in the 44th round.
