Kristen Goetz is in her first year as a graduate assistant in the Athletic Communications Department at St. John's University.

Goetz assists with the media relations efforts for St. John's 17 Division I intercollegiate programs and serves as the primary contact for men's lacrosse, women's cross country and women's track & field.

Before coming to St. John's, Goetz worked for NBC at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, where she served as the primary track & field logger as well as assisted with soccer, softball, volleyball, tennis and several other sports. Goetz also recorded the Emmy award-winning Opening Ceremony and worked on the Closing Ceremony.

Goetz graduated in 2005 with a dual degree in broadcast journalism and history from Syracuse University. She is currently pursuing her master's in history at St. John's.

While an undergraduate, Goetz worked for WAER Sports Radio, an NPR affiliate, which covers Syracuse University football, men's basketball, men's lacrosse and Syracuse's Triple-A minor league baseball team, the Skychiefs. While at WAER, Goetz worked as a host, reporter, statistician and play-by-play broadcaster. She also did public address announcing at the Carrier Dome.

Goetz, originally from Matawan, N.J., currently resides in Flushing, N.Y.
